Experience the thrill of bottom fishing, saltwater flyfishing and sports fishing aboard the charter boat Out of the Blue.
Or cast a fly to a sighted Trout on one of Hawkes Bays spectacular Rivers.

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced angler visiting Hawkes Bay for one day or 1 week, take a boat fishing trip or a few days guided trout fishing with Tony Hildesheim and experience the great outdoors Hawke’s Bay has to offer.
- Boat Fishing: Everybody enjoys fishing. Try your luck catching a big Hawkes Bay Snapper or Hapuka. Use fresh bait, soft baits or cast lures to unsuspecting fish. Suits all ages. All fishing gear provided.
- Saltwater Fly fishing: Tony’s passion. Casting saltwater flies from the boat. An absolute blast when hooked up. Target species are Kahawai, Kingfish, Tuna, Trevally and Snapper. Use the new Loop Opti Salt fly rods and Loop Opti Speedrunner and Evotec CLWC Clear reels.
- Gamefishing (December to April): Trolling lures or live baiting for Yellowfin-Albacore-Skipjack Tuna, Yellowtail Kingfish, Mako Sharks and the odd striped Marlin. Or add to the fun by trying light tackle fishing using 4kg, 6kg, 8kg and 10kg line weights. Lots of patience needed.
- Trout Fishing: Hawkes Bay is an excellent trout fishing and holiday destination, it has many famous and well-stocked rivers all ideal for sighted nymph fishing during the day and dry fly fishing in the evenings for 2lb to 10lb brown and rainbow wild trout.
- Cape Kidnappers Cruise/Dolphin Watching: Take a 3 hour trip along the coastline to Te Awanga/ Clifton then out to the Cape Kidnappers to view the gannets. Weather permitting we’ll cruise further south towards Ocean Beach.
Sunny Napier also has a wide range of fun activities for any non-fishing visitors. Napier is a world recognised Art Deco architectural gem following its destruction by earthquake and fire in 1931. Napier is a city with style surrounded by the fine vineyards of the Hawkes Bay region and looking out to Cape Kidnappers, home of the beautiful and impressive gannet seabird.
The Napier I-Site has all infomation on these activities: winnery tours, wine tasting, art deco walks, splash planet fun park, golf courses, gannet safaris, oceanspa swimming pools, national aquarium of NZ, horse trekking, river kayaking, and of course many cafe’s restaurants bars . . .
