If you want a guy who is real real passionate about catching fish, be it out to sea aboard his charter boat Out of the Blue or stalking trout up one of our local rivers in Hawkes Bay, Tony Hildesheim is your man.
I have been boat fishing out of Napier for over 17 years. Catching all species of fish from snapper to yellow fin tuna. It is now 7 years that I have been operating my fishing charter business in Hawkes Bay and I am proud to have many satisfied and lot’s of repeat customers.
My trout fishing obsession started back in the 70’s, where in form 1 & 2 at Lindisfarne College school Hastings, we had Mr Tony Orman as our fishing club teacher, our favourite subject.
My father, Bert was also a very keen trout fisherman. I still have many very fond memories of him taking a friend and I up to the old Sandy Creek river mouth delta at the northern end of Lake Tutira, where 8 to 10 trout being hooked in a day were not uncommon.
With New Zealand having so many excellent rivers and such nice undevoloped country side, I see great potential for me to build-up the trout fishing side of my business. It really gives my a buzz to take customers to some of the most beautiful rivers in the world and for them to catch and release that wonderful fish the Trout.
The Boat
Out Of The Blue is a 7.2 metre Buccaneer Billfisher 237 walk around fibreglass boat. It is powered by a 165hp Yamaha stern drive diesel engine.
It is a sports fishing machine, real wide body comfort for day trips, ultra stable fishing platform for safety and comfort. It is a true walk-around, you’ll appreciate this when you hang onto a Yellow Fin Tuna or Kingfish as she walks you around the boat. The cockpit is designed for fishability, it’s wide-open layout is ideal for four fishing rods and up to 5 people.
The spacious cuddy cabin has a flush toilet and small galley.
Very few trailer boats can equal the performance of the Billfisher 237 for blue water fishing.
It is fitted with all the appropriate safety equipment require by Maritime Safety Authority New Zealand ( MSA number 130708).
