Northerly 25 knots. Becoming northwest 35 knots about East Cape this afternoon and southwest 25 knots elsewhere in the evening. Southwest rising to 35 knots about Mahia Peninsula for a time tonight. Sea becoming very rough about East Cape and Mahia Peninsula. Northeast swell rising to 2 metres. Southwest swell 1 metre. Poor visibility in rain, easing tonight.

Outlook

Outlook following 3 days: Northwest 25 knots but 35 knots about East Cape. Change Saturday evening southwest 40 knots, ease Sunday afternoon 20 knots, and dying out Sunday night. Becoming Monday northwest 20 knots, but 35 knots about East Cape. Sea very rough at times. Moderate southwest swell developing Sunday, ease Monday.
