Becoming southeast 20 knots everywhere in the morning and rising to 35 knots south of Mahia in the afternoon and to 40 knots everywhere in the evening. Sea becoming very rough. Northerly swell 1 metre in north. Southwest swell rising to 2 metres. Poor visibility in rain from Thursday evening.

Outlook following 3 days: Southeast 40 knots and very rough sea, easing Friday night to 20 knots. Becoming Saturday morning, westerly 15 knots rise late Saturday to 30 knots. Moderate southeasterly swell easing Saturday.
