About East Cape: Westerly 35 knots, easing to southerly 25 knots tonight. Elsewhere: Southwest 25 knots, rising to 35 knots about Mahia Peninsula for a time this morning. Sea becoming very rough about East Cape and Mahia Peninsula for a time. Southwest swell rising to 2 metres. Northeast swell 1 metre, dying out. Poor visibility in showers developing this evening.

Outlook following 3 days: Southwest dying out Sunday night. Becoming Monday northwest 20 knots, but 35 knots about East Cape and south of Hastings with very rough sea. Moderate southwest swell developing Sunday, ease Monday.
