Northeast 40 knots, easing to northerly 30 knots overnight. Easing to 20 knots south of East Cape in the morning. Becoming westerly 25 knots, but 35 knots about East Cape in the afternoon. Sea very rough at times. Northeast swell rising to 3 metres offshore for a time.Poor visibility in rain, clearing Monday evening.

Outlook
Outlook following 3 days: Becoming northwest 35 knots throughout Tuesday morning, late change southwest 35 knots. Tend Wednesday morning westerly 25 knots, rise northwest 40 knots later. Ease Thursday morning westerly 30 knots, tending northwest 20 knots later. Sea very rough at times. Moderate southwest swell developing Wednesday.
