About East Cape: Westerly 25 knots, rising to northwest 35 knots around midday and to 50 knots tonight. Elsewhere: Northwest 15 knots, rising to 25 knots this morning and to 35 knots this afternoon. Sea becoming high in north. Southwest swell 1 metre. Fair visibility in rain developing this evening.

Outlook

Outlook following 3 days: Northwest 35 knots but 50 knots in north with high sea. Becoming everywhere midday Friday southwest 30 knots, then easing late Saturday to 15 knots and Sunday variable 10 knots. Southerly swell becoming moderate Friday, then easing Sunday.
