Southwest 25 knots, but 35 knots offshore until mid-morning, easing to 15 knots everywhere around midday and tending northwest by evening. Very rough sea offshore easing. Southwest swell rising to 2 metres for a time. Fair visibility in showers, mainly offshore, clearing this morning.
Outlook
Outlook following 3 days: Westerly rising Saturday morning to 30 knots about East Cape and south of Mahia and 20 knots elsewhere. Change from early Sunday southwest 35 knots throughout with very rough sea, then easing later Sunday southerly 20 knots. Becoming Monday northwest 25 knots. Moderate southwest swell developing Sunday and easing Monday.
